Autumn Touches In The Dining Room

I start wanting to bring fall colors out when I see this happening.

Leaves turned gold fallen into the bird bath.

And then I start thinking about oranges and golds and browns. Oh, and reds. Can't forget my reds!

 

I get out and pick up acorns around my oak trees.

And find ways to utilize them in my decorating scheme.

I think about candlelight and cozy warm nights with a blanket and a book. Night falling faster. Brisker mornings.

We're not there yet. But almost.

 

Decorating The Mantel For Fall

I've been getting in the spirit of fall decorating. Not that we have much fall weather yet.

On our living room mantel, we always have the photographs of my husband's Polish relatives. So I just add to that with seasonal decorating.

Just over a year ago we had the fireplace completely transformed. It was once all brick with this same mantel. Now it is marble and wood.

I've also been adding seasonal touches in my garden room. 

I bought the squash at the grocery store last weekend.  And added a little orange pumpkin.

 

I'll be going out to pick up acorns and pine cones soon to decorate other parts of the house and outdoor rooms.
