Welcome Wagon Friday 6/4/10

You all know what I do on Fridays. I don the Welcome Wagon hat and head across the land welcoming new bloggers.

I’m not too swift in the kitchen anymore since my daughters left home, and I don’t do much more than bake brownies out of a box. (Which is what the kitchen timer is ticking away the timing of right now.)

So I’ll leave it up to you to think up a virtual casserole or pie. I never could make pie crust worth diddly. (But I could whip up a real pretty meringue to go on top!) So I leave it to you cyber hostesses and neighbors for the “new neighbor meals.”

I’ll just hand them a plate of brownies courtesy of Betty Crocker via General Mills. And we’ll sit and get to know one another outside in my yard, watching the dragonflies flit from flower to flower.

Beachy Chic is Lara’s blog. She enjoys junking, thrifting, and flea marketing. She likes to mix vintage and new, the weathered and the worn. All while keeping a simple, neutral palette. Which she embellishes with fresh flowers and gifts from nature. Just a few of her favorite things are violet perfume, seashells, old movies, still life photography, lavender tea, her black cat Merlin, vanilla lattes, and interior design books. She writes her blog to document her decorating journey, as well as to fuel her desire to be creative. (Phenomenal photos!)

Meadowcrest Cottage is Debbie’s blog. She loves to decorate, remodel and repurpose places, rooms and things. She is a member of the Ninety Nines, the International Organization of Women Pilots. She’s not sure which she loves most: decorating or flying. She also has a vintage Harley. And her husband does antique restorations of Harley Davidsons. He has also written two complete restoration books on this subject. (I’m in love with her dishes.)

The Tin Rabbit is Ann’s blog. And it is a place of creativity. She likes to take old worn objects and give them a second chance. She was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer and had a radical double mastectomy. Now she says she’s come to realize that the things we think are important, are not. And the things that didn’t seem so important, actually are the most important of all. (You will love her collections!)
